We live in the age of filters. Not just the ones on Instagram, but filters on reality itself. Everywhere you look, life is polished, curated, and presented as something it’s not. We scroll through endless feeds of smiling faces, exotic vacations, “perfect” bodies, and luxury lifestyles. The world applauds the highlight reel while ignoring the messy, raw, and authentic truth that makes us human.

But here’s the problem: when we buy into the fake world, we lose ourselves.

The Life Changing Coach

We live in a fake world built on social media, selfies, and materialism. While it promises connection and happiness, it often leaves us empty and disconnected from our true essence. The way out is authenticity—choosing presence, truth, and self-connection over illusion.

The Fake World We Live In

We are surrounded by illusions. Our culture teaches us to perform instead of live, to compare instead of connect, and to buy instead of be. The more we play along, the more disconnected we become from what truly matters: our essence.

The fake world looks shiny from the outside—but inside, it feels empty.

Social Media Addiction: The Cult of Selfies

Social media was supposed to connect us. Instead, it has turned into a stage where everyone performs.

Just last night in Palma de Mallorca, I witnessed the perfect picture of our fake world. A family of three sat down at the restaurant terrace where we were eating. All three had their phones in their hands. The daughter, maybe 14 years old, was scrolling endlessly, her fingers moving faster than her attention span. The mother was glued to videos and even stopped a few times to record shorts of her own. And the father? He took a selfie with almost every single bite of his tapas dish.

They didn’t speak to each other. Not even once.No laughter, no eye contact, no presence.

They were together physically, yet worlds apart—each trapped in a digital performance, missing the very moment that could have connected them.

This is the cult of selfies and social media addiction: presence sacrificed for performance, connection replaced with distraction.

Materialism and the Illusion of Happiness

The fake world whispers: Buy this. Wear this. Drive this. Own this.

We are sold happiness in boxes, bags, and brand names. Advertisers prey on our insecurities, convincing us that we’ll finally feel complete if we just get the next thing. And so, we work harder, stress more, and sacrifice our inner peace just to keep up.

But the truth? No purchase can fill the void of disconnection from our essence. Materialism is just another mask in the theatre of illusion.

Dissociation From Our True Essence

Here’s the painful reality: we have drifted so far from who we truly are that many people don’t even recognize their own soul anymore.

We are not our selfies. We are not our possessions. We are not the approval of strangers online.

We are essence. Consciousness. Love. Freedom. The real you—the unfiltered you—is infinitely more powerful than any fake image could ever be.

When we disconnect from that essence, life feels empty. Anxiety rises. Depression sneaks in. No matter how perfect things look from the outside, something inside feels missing. That “something” is your authentic self.

How to Break Free From the Fake World

The good news? You can step out of the illusion any time you choose.

  • Turn down the noise. Limit the scroll. Notice how you feel when you disconnect from screens and reconnect with reality.

  • Practice radical authenticity. Share your truth, unfiltered. Live your values, even if it’s not “popular.”

  • Remember your essence. Meditate, breathe, sit in silence. Listen to the voice beneath the noise—the one that never needed likes to exist.

  • Choose presence over performance. Instead of capturing the perfect shot, live the perfect moment.

Authentic Living: The Wake-Up Call

Our fake world thrives because people stay asleep. But you don’t have to.

Every moment is a chance to choose truth over illusion, essence over ego, reality over performance. When you reconnect with who you really are, life transforms. Peace replaces pressure. Freedom replaces fear.

And maybe that’s what the fake world is really here to teach us: that we can’t afford to keep living asleep. That it’s time to wake up and reclaim what matters most—our soul, our freedom, our truth.

Final Cut-the-Crap Truth

This world doesn’t need more selfies. It doesn’t need more stuff. It doesn’t need more performance.

It needs more people brave enough to be real.

Are you ready to be one of them?

👉 If this resonates with you, share it. Not for likes. Not for approval. But because the world is starving for authenticity—and you have the power to remind someone of their true self today.
